New York Titty! *

So, I was in New York over the weekend for the release of the 2010 New York Sex Bloggers Calendar, proceeds from which benefit Sex Work Awareness.  Here’s some photos from the trip:

Here’s Lola.

This is Solitaire reading at Audacia Ray’s Sex Worker Literati event.  Solitaire’s a stripper and said that her three dream songs to strip to were by Garbaga, Madonna and Kylie, and that when the first time she went in to a strip club she heard all three of those songs in a row.  I wanted to ask her what songs they were but didn’t get a chance to meet her.  I’m guessing it might have been something like this, though.

Here’s the view from our room at Hotel Le Jolie in Williamsburg.  I really liked it there, although if you want to take advantage of their free wireless you won’t want to stay higher than the third floor.

nyc5

After the Sex Worker Literati event (and dinner), we headed to DUMBO for GUMBO, the gay party at Galapagos.  As you can see it wasn’t exactly crowded, although I loved the fact that the DJ’s concept was “poppy R&B hits from seven to ten years ago.” I think I actually squealed when Case Of The Ex came on.  The BF and I also made friends with a funny (and dreamy!) man named Christopher who hosts a cabaret thing there on Saturdays.

nyc6

Friday we went to Five Napkin Burger.  This is the veggie burger, which is wonderful.  The beets made me really excited, as this ended up being the bloodiest thing I’ve ever eaten.

nyc7

We went to check out the High Line, too.  That’s the new park in Manhattan that’s built on the old elevated train tracks.  One part of it has this amphitheatre area where you can sit and watch traffic go by.  (Also, we saw the whole gamut of photographers there, from a fancy film crew to wannabe fashion photographers like this guy.)

Another view of the High Line.

nyc9

This was the men’s room at the calendar party, which was at Fontana’s in Chinatown.

nyc10

Here’s Vera from For Your Nymphomation, a company that makes dildo carrying cases.

nyc11

Here’s the calendar.

nyc12

This is kind of my favorite photo from the weekend, but only because I’m on a self-portraits-in-the-mirror-with-the-flash kick.

nyc13

Here are Erin Markey and Lorelei Lee, who I met after they caught me trying to photograph their shoes.  They both seemed super-awesome, and they’ve got their own new blog now.

nyc14

I really like Princess Kali from Kink Academy.

nyc15

I had this beer with dinner; it is wonderful.

nyc16

Look at us, going to Williamsburg.

nyc17

Even the television in our room seemed to know we were in town for a sex conference.  Friday night we caught the King of the Hill where Luanne becomes a born-again virgin, and we woke up to this hilariously amazing penis-enhancement infomercial.

(*Remember the part of Unzipped where the guy walks up to Isaac Mizrahi and Sandra Bernhard and tells them the joke where ‘New York Titty’ is the punchline?  I was referring to that.)

I should have gone sightseeing with you!!! I wanted to see the Standard Hotel, just bc of the pervy voyeur in me. Yeah, I’m that kinda girl.

Actually my room was on the 4th floor and we did get wifi. Someone else 4th floor said it wasn’t a strong signal but I never had much issue with it. Great pics!

The hotel looked really awesome. They were actually filming a movie inside, I think, because there were giant lights and cherrypickers and security people standing outside. If we had more time we would have definitely investigated closer.
