Books like Peter Terzian’s Heavy Rotation, which is an anthology of essays about life-changing albums, always make me want to write my own essay and then track down the author and be all like “Look, look, read this!”  I’ll have to pick the book up soon.  [via Steamboats Are Ruining Everything, which is written by Terzian’s boyfriend]

Oh, and LA Times book blogger Carolyn Kellogg interviews Pauls Toutonghi, who teaches a class at Lewis & Clark College on the rock n roll novel.

Speaking of books, the Times (of London) lists their sixty favorite books of the last sixty years.  I’ve only read seven of them, which is crazy; also, Graham Swift’s Waterland (which I could never finish) is about ten years older than I thought it was, somehow.  I should probably read The One Hundred And One Dalmatians eventually, because Dodie Smith’s I Capture The Castle is one of my favorite books.

Eurocovers found a Tegulu-language version of Love Is Blue in Tegulu.  Or three.  Though none of them top my favorite version of the song, which is the one done by “soul bagpiper” Rufus Harley.

I listened to this song a crapload of times today.

And, for your Sunday comics, here’s Modern Hooker with a lesson for you all. [via Carnal Nation]
