Lylloo is seventeen and French. My knowledge of the language–which after seven years of classes was pretty okay for a while–has deteriorated to the point where I honestly can’t tell whether she’s Yelle-ish day-glo hipster electro-pop, or whether this is essentially Radio Eurodisney. Either way, I kind of love Mon Tel, her new single, which debuted at #14 on the French charts this week. The video, which seems to have been made for eight dollars, is nevertheless pretty neato:

Lylloo’s previous single, Di Dou Dam, is also pretty darn good, once you get past the brief intro, which sounds like a frightening variation on Kleenex-LiLiPUT/Book Of Love’s Die Matrosen:

Catchy, innit?
